Steve Demarest

Steve served as President and Founder of MB Trading from 1997-2015, with a principal focus on operations. Steve has deep knowledge and extensive experience in trading and investing for over 30 years. It has been estimated that Steve had oversight of 250-300k traders during his tenure at MB Trading. He also had a leadership role in Sales and Marketing, Compliance, Finance and Business Development. MB Trading was successfully acquired by TradeKing in 2015 where Demarest was the primary lead in the acquisition process. He served on the Board of TradeKing and assisted in the acquisition by Ally Financial in 2016.

Prior to starting MB Trading, Demarest was an institutional broker for Piper Jaffray, where his territory was primarily Southern California. This provided him with a keen insight into institution trading industry. This valuable experience has guided much of MB Trading’s strategic direction in this area.

Demarest had joined Piper Jaffray in 1995 after spending the previous three years on the retail side at PaineWebber. At the time, Demarest was PaineWebber’s youngest Account Vice President.

Demarest graduated from the University of Arizona, BA in Marketing (1988-92)
